Asociación de Arte Útil

Arte Útil (AU) roughly translates into English as 'useful art' but it goes further suggesting art as a tool or device. Arte Útil draws on artistic thinking to imagine, create and implement tactics that change how we act in society. The Asociación de AU was initiated by the artist Tania Bruguera and, in line with the Criteria of AU, it is now being evolved by a growing user group into an international body to promote ways for art to work effectively in ordinary life and to initiate and support new initiatives that fulfil the Criteria of AU. The Asociación provides a growing social, political and active network of members, a database of case studies and resources that exemplify the different working methodologies used in AU and opportunities to develop and support new AU projects.
