SPAZIO Y

An independent place dedicated to research and experimentation in the contemporary context, it is a meeting and exchange point for artists and operators in the cultural sector, invited from time to time to interact with the physical and historical social context where the art space is located and acts. The same name of the space: Y, besides referring to the actual location of the place, which is located at the intersection of two streets, refers to a more symbolic image, as an intersection of possible directions that converge and diverge. Created in 2014 by a collective of artists, to which also curators and operators of the cultural sector joined in 2016, it organized more than thirty events, including personal and collective, and produced site-specific works, relational art projects, realized actions and performances in different places and contexts, thematic meetings and presentations. It also promotes trans-disciplinary events: cinema, music, theatre and, educational and training projects. In April 2016, Spazio Y was invited by MAXXI - Museum of XXI Century Arts to become part of THE INDEPENDENT project, a permanent and growing online platform that maps the most interesting and active independent national and international realities. In October 2016, Spazio Y took part in NESXT, an international network dedicated to independent artistic and cultural production, which took place during Artissima, the main contemporary art fair in Italy based in Turin.
