Surplace

Surplace artspace is an independent working space that promotes contemporary art and artistic techniques, blurring the boundaries of the stereotypical roles of the artist, the administrator, the critic, the art gallery manager etc.. The work of art is the core of this experiment. The method of display simply showcases two of three artworks of the same artists, or two works artworks made by different artists, or group shows.  By so doing, audiences perceive discursive interactions between ideas and souls, the similarities and differences of which may create assonance or clashes. Everyone knows when an exhibition starts, no one knows when it ends. The work of art is the core of this experimental station. The display method is simple: an artist with two or three works of art, two artists with a work of art each and rare collective exhibitions. In so doing we may perceive what happens when things interact and talk to each other, when ideas and souls give themselves a challenge, when they meet by assonance and compare or clash on the line of similarities and differences. Everyone knows when an exhibition starts, no one when it is over. The meaning of surplace is a sort of “inframince”.
